I recommend clients to come with hair that has been washed the day prior to the appointment for optimal results.

If you’re getting your hair colored, clean/dry hair helps the hair color to take evenly and effectively.

In fact, in my 14 year career it is a rare occurrence when a client has be sensitive or even allergic to the hair color I used on them. In some cases washing your hair the day of a hair color service, will stimulate your scalp and remove all natural oil that is a good barrier of protection. For this reason, come to your appointment with clean/dry hair but don't wash it the day of. If you are concerned about a potential allergy and/or sensitivity, it is always a good idea to take preventive measures and perform a skin allergy test prior to your appointment.

This does not mean you have to buy high end/expensive haircare, I can recommend several different options for all budgets.

Purchasing product from a professional hairstylist and/or salon will guarantee that you get authentic product, and you would be supporting a small business for the same price.

In fact, the trends have really moved more into “lived-in” & “low maintenance” hair color, and are so flattering on all clients. The initial appointment tends to be a bit longer in order to create seamless blends of color and blur out foil lines, which allows for you to come back for touch-ups less often. Typically a traditional highlight will have you back in the salon every 6-8 weeks. With a lived-in hair color you will need a touch-up in about 12 or more weeks (unless you have grey). At your 12 week maintenance appointment it could be that we do something as simple as a color melt to refresh your color which is super quick and easy.

Coloring your hair does not have to be a lot of maintenance.

Such as: your desired hair goal & your hair’s starting point, the sessions required to achieve your goal and the skill level of your hairstylist. All clients will receive a complimentary consultation when booking with me, so that is always a good time to discuss potential costs so that you know what costs to expect in order to get you to your desired goal.
